The first date for the global Warning was averted in 1973. Consequently, the Garabandal village Miracle did not occur the following year.
However, God instead permitted an awesome sign in the sky in conjunction with the Feast of the Eucharist in June 1974. It was a sign of the boundless mercy of our Almighty Creator. One who continues to give marvelous signs in a multitude of ways for those with “eyes to see”.

The faithful realized the miraculous “M” with outstretched WINGS was a unique sign in conjunction with the Feast of the Eucharist in 1974. Resplendently, it exhibited the love and protection of heavenly mother, Mary, who continued to spread her mantle of protection over her children in order to save them from the great chastisement, which she sought to at least mitigate by her global visits and appeals.

Indeed, Our Lady well knows her Son’s promise is in keeping with the spectacular 1974 miracle, whose form underscored Our Lord’s own words, foretelling the suddenness of his Second Coming:
For as LIGHTNING comes out of the east and appears even into the west,
so shall the coming of the Son of man be.

Our Lady once asked Veronica to read directly from Matthew 24 during a public message. During the year before the miracle of 1974, she had also stipulated:
“John, Joel, and Matthew have left you words of truth and prophecy.” (4/14/73)
